Series 200 coatings can be successfully applied to most ferrous and non-ferrous metals, steel, stainless steel, iron, brass, bronze, copper, hastelloy, inconel, monel, nickel alloys, aluminum, and aluminum alloys.
The recommended coating thickness depends generally on the application, and desired performance factors. The coating is a controlled process for surface growth and overall deposits and is normally applied between 0.0007 inch and 0.001 inch, although based on the specific performance factors may vary as low as 0.0002 inch or a high as 0.003; inch.
The application and specific performance factors will generally dictate the required RMS surface value. Series 200 coatings will be equal to or better than the original surface finish, subsequently, any surface imperfection before coating will remain after coating.
Typical hardness is 58 to 65 Rc (the equivalent of tempered steel) and provides excellent resistance to galling and seizing. Our 202HW and 203HW coatings provide maximum hardness of 75 to 80 Rc.
Endura® Coatings application engineers will assist you in determining the best coating chemistry for your application.

Series 200 coated surfaces are smooth and provide an extremely low coefficient of friction. Values are similar to Teflon® and typically range between 0.08 and 0.20, depending on the load, sliding speed, temperature, and other factors. To optimize low friction, the surface should have a nominal 12 RMS or better finish before coating.
Applied to a surface of 12 micro-inches or smoother, the coating exhibits superior abrasion resistance, comparable to hardened tool steel or chromium-plated steel having the same surface finish.
Series 100 coated surfaces are smooth and provide permanent dry film lubrication and a lower coefficient of friction. Values are similar to Teflon® and typically range between 0.08 and 0.12. The amount of friction reduction depends on size of load, sliding speed, temperature, and the material and micro finish of the contacting surface. To optimize low friction, the surface should have a nominal 8 RMS or better finish before coating.
Series 200 coatings are inert to most chemicals, including acids, alkalies, solvents and exhibit excellent corrosion resistance to most chemicals. Endura® 201 /CR and 204 are engineered to provide maximum corrosion resistance. Using a 5% salt spray test per ASTM B-117 and with a coating thickness of 0.0012 inch, Endura® 201/CR and 204 coatings have shown to withstand corrosive attack of 500 to 1200 hours. Upon request, we will supply coated samples and recommend that you evaluate the selected Endura® coating under your specific application conditions.
Based on the unique combined properties of Series 200 coatings, few materials will permanently adhere to the coated surface.
Coatings will withstand severe temperature extremes without loss of physical properties, and are designed for operation from cryogenic to 450°F for continuous operation and to 500°F intermittently. Coatings are available to 1000°F.
Coatings possess a very high surface resistivity, and can be made sufficiently conductive for applications involving anti-static requirements.
Series 200 "Infused Matrix" coatings are both oleophobic and hydrophobic, therefore, resist wetting by most liquids. Cleanup is easier, more thorough, and in many cases, reduced or unnecessary.
