Critical Processing Factors For Series 200 Coatings

Coating Thickness

Series 200 coatings consist of a total surface area build-up, therefore, you must allow for the surface growth (typically between 0.0005 and 0.001 inch) before machining. To ensure dimensional integrity after coating, Endura® will submit coating thickness values during the design phase, when requested.

Base Metal Surface Requirements

Surface contaminants and imperfections must be removed prior to processing at Endura® Coatings. Based on the extreme coating uniformity, surface imperfectionin base metal will remain after coating.

Masking

One of the unique advantages of Series 200 coatings is that the entire surface area is coated (i.e. external, internal threaded holes, and through holes), therefore, it is less costly to coat the entire part, and subsequently, reduces processing time factors. In the event masking is required (threaded holes, etc.), it must be clearly noted on your prints or corresponding documentation.
